Hire a Private Chef for Hen Party

Frequently asked questions

01

What is a reasonable budget for a private chef for a hen do?

A reasonable budget depends on what you want from the experience. A grazing table or sharing platter service for a group of 12-16 will sit at a different price point to a formal four-course private dining menu. A range of £49-£59 per person for a sharing service or £69+ for individually plated dinner is your starting point.

02

Is there a difference between a private chef and a personal chef?

Yes, though the terms are often used interchangeably. A private chef typically refers to someone hired for a specific event or special occasion - a hen party, a dinner, a celebration. A personal chef service usually implies a more ongoing arrangement, cooking regularly for an individual or household. For hen parties, you’re looking for a private chef: someone who comes to your venue, cooks for your group, and delivers a one-off culinary experience tailored to the occasion.

03

Can a private chef cater in an Airbnb or holiday let for a hen party?

Absolutely. This is one of our most common setups. Holiday lets and Airbnbs often have basic kitchen facilities, and we come fully prepared to work within whatever space is available. We assess the equipment situation in advance and bring anything additional that we’ll need. Airbnb kitchen with one pan? We’ve seen worse. The food quality doesn’t change - only the kitchen does.

04

How far in advance should I book a chef for a hen party?

We recommend 6-8 weeks as a minimum, and 8-12 weeks for larger groups or peak season dates (summer weekends, bank holidays, and the spring–summer). Hen party bookings are popular, and the best dates fill up early. That said, always get in touch even if the date is close — we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible.
